Author(s) : CAVALIER G., DEVIN E.

Summary

The international agreement for transport of perishable foodstuff, ATP, signed in 1970 originally introduced a test for renewal of certificates after 6 years. If the test requirements where quite specifically described for non mechanically refrigerated equipments, for mechanically refrigerated equipments, the test requirements were quite limited. The test of efficiency had to be done with an outside temperature higher than 15°C. In 1995, ATP was change to specify these tests. A limit of six hours was added for the maximum acceptable pull time to the class temperature. In 2008, WP11 voted in favour of a new test protocol for renewal pull down tests for autonomous mechanically refrigerated equipments. However, the ATP test protocol remains less precise for non autonomous mechanically refrigerated equipments. France proposed an informal proposal in 2007. The objective is to built a formal protocol.
