Summary

A recent report gives a size in 1995 of GBP 58,7 million for the cassette market. Cassettes now account for a staggering 36% of the total package market, which is in turn some 34% of the central plant market. 99% of cassettes operate on R22. The front runner by a long way for a permanent replacement would appear to be R407C, but there is some concern that it could throw up as many problems as it solves. The capacities are coming down, in some cases as low as 2.5 kilowatts.
