THE EVALUATION OF FIELD MEASUREMENTS OF VENTILATION PARAMETERS MADE USING THE PASSIVE PERFLUOROCARBON METHOD.

Summary

THE DETERMINATION OF VENTILATION ZONES IS IMPORTANT, BECAUSE THE IMPROPER SELECTION OF ZONES CAN CAUSE SEVERE ERRORS OR UNCERTAINTIES IN THE RESULTS. THE PAPER DESCRIBES METHODS FOR THE EVALUATION OF FIELD MEASUREMENTS. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE ERRORS BECOME UNACCEPTABLY HIGH WHEN THE OPTIMAL CONDITION NUMBER DIVIDED BY THE NUMBER OF ZONES EXCEEDS THE VALUE 1.5. IN FIELD MEASUREMENTS IT WAS FOUND THAT THE CONCENTRATION DEVIATION WITHIN THE ZONES, WHICH HAD OPEN INTERIOR DOORS, VARIED FROM 1 TO 25%. THE REVISED PRINCIPLES FOR ZONE-SELECTION ARE ALSO PRESENTED IN THE PAPER.
