A THREE-COMPARTMENT UNIT IS PROPOSED, THE THIRD AT 274-276 K (1-3 DEG C) OR < CONSERVER > OPERATING UNDER DIRECT REFRIGERATION WITH ITS OWN COMPRESSOR AND TWO-PROBE THERMOSTAT. THE FREEZER IS AIR FLOW REFRIGERATED AND THE INSULATION IS MADE OF NEW EXPANDED FOAMS WHOSE R11 CONTENT HAS BEEN HALVED. J.L.
