Summary

THE PAPER DESCRIBES HEAT TRANSFER PERFORMANCE AND PRESSURE DROP OF A SINGLE FINNED TUBE, BUNDLES OF BARE TUBES AND BUNDLES OF FINNED TUBES IN FLUIDIZED BEDS. EFFECTS OF THE FIN GEOMETRY AND THE TUBE PITCH ON THE PERFORMANCE, AND RELATION-SHIP BETWEEN THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT AND THE PARTICLE CONCENTRATION, WERE EXPERIMENTALLY INVESTIGATED. MOREOVER, THE CHANGE OF THE HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS AND THE PRESSURE DROP WHEN THE BED HEIGHT IS DECREASED WAS ALSO INVESTIGATED. OPTIMUM VALUES OF DESIGN VARIABLES WERE OBTAINED. (BULL.
