Summary

DERIVES A MATHEMATICAL AND PHYSICAL MODEL OF THE THERMOREGULATORY MECHANISM AND PRESENTS EXPERIMENTAL DATA FOR THE ELEMENTS OF THE MODEL. STATES THAT THIS NEW WAY OF USING EXPERIMENTAL DATA MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO ESTIMATE: 1) THE TOTAL THERMAL RESISTANCE OF CLOTHING ; 2) THE THERMOREGULATORY RANGE OF THE HUMAN BODY ; 3) THE ADAPTATION CHANGES FOR WINTER AND SUMMER ; AND 4) OPTIMUM VALUES AS A MEANS OF UPPER AND LOWER LIMIT VALUES.
