Summary

The first part sets out the most important statutory regulations and recommendations for reducing emissions from building materials. The second part describes measurements in a test chamber of emissions from floor and wall coverings and coatings and paints commonly used in building refurbishment. Presents the findings in particular for five aromatic hydrocarbons and illustrates their decline in concentration in graphs. Notes the overriding effect of the air change rate on concentration decline.
