The reduction of the low-frequency band noise in hermetic refrigerator compressor.

Author(s) : LEE H., KWON B. H., PARK S. O.

Summary

The study focuses on how to reduce the low-frequency band noise of the hermetic compressors and the noise-level differences among compressor sets related to the acoustic cavity resonance. For this, the several factors, which have the important effect upon the cavity resonance frequencies, were derived and analyzed by the experiments and the finite element method. Also the design methods for reduction of the low-frequency noise and the distribution among the sets are proposed and were applied to a real hermetic compressor design.
