Summary

From the homogeneous phase flow model, the analysis was performed on the working characteristics of a bubble pump operating under adiabatic slug flow condition in a single-pressure absorption refrigerator. A theoretical model for the bubble pump was established and an experiment was conducted on the steady-state process of the pump with saturated water as the working fluid. The experimental data are in reasonable agreement with the calculated values. The analysis results show that the flow pattern in the bubble pump riser would vary with the increase in gas volumetric flow rate or submergence ratio, leading to the deviation between experimental and theoretical curves. However, this transition of the flow pattern has no inhibition effect on the liquid volumetric flow rate.
