Summary

A THERMAL BOUNDARY LAYER IN THE CORNER OF A WALL SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT FOR THE ACCURATE CALCULATION OF HEAT TRANSMISSION THROUGH THE CORNER OF THE WALL. HOWEVER, MOST STUDIES ON THE THERMAL BOUNDARY LAYER HAVE BEEN CONCERNED WITH A FLAT WALL, WHETHER HORIZONTAL, VERTICAL, OR OBLIQUE. THE STUDY ANALYSES THE THERMAL BOUNDARY LAYER EQUIVALENT TO CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER IN THE CORNER OF A WALL IN A LAMINAR FREE CONVECTION. BY MEASURING THE TEMPERATURE BY A THERMO VIEWER AND FINITE ELEMENT METHOD ANALYSIS, AN EMPIRICAL FORMULA IS PROPOSED CONCERNING THE THERMAL BOUNDARY LAYER EQUIVALENT TO CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER IN THE CORNER OF A WALL IN A LAMINAR FREE CONVECTION.
