Thermal energy analysis in reciprocating hermetic compressors.

Summary
The thermal energy analysis of a reciprocating hermetic compressor is performed using a computational program. The simulation model employed in the program is based on energy balances. Simulation results are presented for a small compressor and compared with experimental results. Good agreement prevails indicating that the major effects affecting the thermal performance of the compressor have been considered by the proposed model.
