Summary

THE THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF AIR DEHUMIDIFICATION PROCESSES SHOWS THAT IT IS CONVENIENT TO SEPARATE THE WATER VAPOUR FROM A HUMID AIR MIXTURE BY ABSORPTION INTO A HYGROSCOPIC SOLUTION. THIS SYSTEM NECESSITATES A RE-CONCENTRATION OF THE DILUTED SOLUTION, AND THIS OPERATION REQUIRES A HEAT ENERGY SUPPLY. THE AUTHORS PRESENT A STUDY OF THE THERMAL PERFORMANCE OF AN OPEN-TYPE DEVICE FOR THE RE-CONCENTRATION USING A SUPPLY OF HEAT AND SIMULTANEOUS MASS TRANSFER BETWEEN THE SOLUTION AND AIR.
