THE TRANSFER FUNCTIONS DESCRIBED IN THIS PAPER FOR FLOOR OR CEILING HEATING PANELS, CALCULATED BY USING THE FINITE ELEMENT TECHNIQUE, ALLOW FOR AN EASY EVALUATION OF THE TRANSIENT CONDUCTION PHENOMENA THROUGH THE PANEL STRUCTURE, WITH THE SAME DEGREE OF ACCURACY OF A COMPLETE SIMULATION BY A FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS. MOREOVER, THE ANALYTICAL FORMULATION ALLOWS FOR THE DIRECT IMPLEMENTING OF THE TRANSFER FUNCTIONS IN THE CONVENTIONAL MODELS SOLVING THE ROOM THERMAL BALANCE, THUS GIVING A SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION TO THE SIMULATION OF THE THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF BUILDINGS WITH FLOOR OR CEILING HEATING PANELS.
