Summary
The results of an experimental study on the thermoacoustic effect performed by means of a simple prototype are reported. The apparatus is able to highlight the general features of the thermoacoustic effect. Measurements concern the acoustically generated temperature gradients across a thermoacoustic couple. The experimental results are analyzed quantitatively in the framework of the linear thermoacoustic theory. Furthermore, an initial time rate of change of temperature analysis is proposed.
