Summary

EXPERIMENTS WERE CARRIED OUT ON TRANSIENT HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER BY NATURAL CONVECTION DURING REFRIGERATION OF AIR BY HORIZONTAL TUBES IN THE RANGE 1,000-1,000,000 FOR GRASHOF-PRANDTL AND GRASHOF-SCHMIDT NUMBERS. THE HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS DURING THE PERIOD OF REFRIGERATION WERE STUDIED. THE TIME REQUIRED FROM THE MOMENT OF STARTING REFRIGERATION OF AIR UNTIL APPROACHING CONSTANT VALUES OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS WAS OBTAINED.
