Summary
The '97 world shipments of room air conditioners mainly used for home (window- and ductless split room air conditioners), and those of packaged air conditioners used for light commercial service and for whole houses, are estimated to be 34 million units. The total figure is about 1.5 times as large as that of ten years ago. The largest contributor to this great expansion would be East Asia led by China.
