Author(s) : BRASSEUR G.

Type of article: Periodical article

Summary

Formed by the reaction between chlorine and the nitrogenous matter brought by bathers, trichloramine is rapidly and abundantly released in the halls of public swimming pools, in particular during crowded periods. Lifeguards are then prone to ocular and respiratory irritations. Requested by the town of Quimper, the CRAM in Brittany and the INRS designed a system for extracting chloramines from the water that is suitable for swimming pool infrastructures.
