Summary

COUPLED PAIRS (SMALL-RADIUS BIPOLARONS) LOCALIZED AT THE LATTICE SITES CAN BE FORMED BY ELECTRONS IN NARROW-BAND CRYSTALS WITH STRONG ELECTRON-PHONON INTERACTION. IT IS SHOWN THAT FOR ANY CONCENTRATION THE PROPERTIES OF THE BIPOLARONS CAN BE DESCRIBED BY AN EQUIVALENT BOSE HAMILTONIAN. THE UPPER CRITICAL MAGNETIC FIELD H(T) FOR AN ARBITRARY BIPOLARON CONCENTRATION IS FOUND BY TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THEAR THE UNUSUAL BEHAVIOUR OF THE UPPER CRITICAL FIELD IN HIGH TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTORS IS EXPLAINED ON THE BASIS OF THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF H OBTAINED.
