WINDOW STRUCTURES CAN BE DESIGNED WITH A COMBINATION OF HEAT TRANSFER AND SHADING COEFFICIENTS, AND DIFFERENT FACTORS FOR ULTRAVIOLET, VISIBLE AND INFRARED RADIATION. THE SELECTION OF THE BEST COMBINATION WILL ITSELF DEPEND ON THE BUILDING AND USE. NEW TYPES OF GLASS NOW GIVE A WIDER CHOICE AND BETTER CONTROL OF RADIATION, IN ORDER TO REDUCE GAINS,INCREASE LOSSES IN SUMMER, AND CONSERVE USEFUL RADIANT HEAT IN WINTER.
