Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

A METHOD FOR CORRELATING MIXTURE VAPOUR-LIQUID EQUILIBRIUM (VLE) PROPERTIES IS PROPOSED FOR USE WITH SOLUTIONS CONTAINING POLAR SUBSTANCES AS USED IN ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION. PURE COMPONENT DATA ARE NEEDED AND AN INTERACTION PARAMETER OF THE MIXTURE BASED ON ONLY ONE EXPERIMENTAL MEASUREMENT OF VAPOUR PRESSURE. THE SOLUTION ETHYLENE GLYCOL-METHANOLWAS INVESTIGATED AND THE REDLICH-KWONG AND CLAUSIUS EQUATIONS WERE SEPARATELY USED TO CORRELATE DATA. THE REDLICH-KWONG EQUATION IS CONSIDERED TO BE PREFERABLE.
