Variable-volume pumps: why and how?

Les pompes à débit variable : pourquoi et comment ?

Author(s) : DELORME L.

Type of article: Article

Summary

Interest is shown in using variable-volume pumps in water distribution installations for heating and air conditioning. Two cases are identified: when the flow rate-pressure characteristic of the network is modified by the action of control devices, and when it is not. The reasons which justify the use of variable-speed pumps are analyzed (comfort and energy savings), the operation of the different modes of control are described and the parameters explained. J.R.
