Velocity profile in boundary layers of turbulent flows.

Geschwindigkeitsverlaut turbulenter Strömungen in Wandnähe.

Type of article: Article

Summary

For more than 60 years, the velocity profile in a boundary layer has been calculated in a manner proposed by L. Prandtl. In the paper, profiles are presented which allow the calculation of the complete boundary layer without using separate calculations for the laminary sublayer, the transient zone and the main zone. With these profiles, it is possible to replace the well-known logarithmic profile and the one-seventh power profile.
