VENTILATING SYSTEMS TESTED IN PRACTICE.

Author(s) : WERNER H.

Summary

THE SYSTEMS WERE TESTED IN NATURAL CLIMATE CONDITIONS IN ONE-FAMILY HOUSES. RESULTS: WINDOWS WITH SPECIAL SEALS CAUSE AIR EXCHANGE RATES LOWER THAN 0. 3/H AND TIPPED WINDOWS MOST-LY HIGHER THAN 2/H. VENTILATING DEVICES WHICH ARE NOT MOTOR-DRIVEN OFFER SUFFICIENT VENTILATION. MOTOR-DRIVEN VENTILATING SYSTEMS ALLOW GOOD VENTILATION. HOWEVER, DRAUGHT PHENOMENA CAN HARDLY BE AVOIDED. CENTRAL SYSTEMS SHOULD BE PREFERRED.
