Summary

HUMIDIFIERS CAN BE OF THE WATER SPRAY OR STEAM GENERATOR TYPE. EVAPORATION OF WATER INTO THE AIR STREAM ALSO GIVES COOLING, AND IS OF ADVANTAGE WHERE THE DRY BULB TEMPERATURE IS TO BE LOWERED. ANY SOLIDS IN THE WATER WILL REMAIN AS POWDER AFTER THE SPRAY HAS EVAPORATED. STEAM GENERATORS ARE CHEAPER AND MORE COMPACT. IN BOTH CASES, THERE MUST BE SUFFICIENT AIR FLOW AND AT THE RIGHT CONDITIONS OFF THE COIL TO CARRY THE EXTRA MOISTURE, OR CONDENSATION WILLOCCUR INSIDE THE CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT AND DUCTS. A.R.T.
