A new start

After 20 years serving the IIR as Director General, Didier Coulomb hands over to Yosr Allouche to manage and develop this organisation.

"Over the last few years, the IIR has gradually gained well-deserved international recognition, thanks to the quality of the information it provides, the size of the network it feeds and the growing awareness of the importance of refrigeration in the world, now and even more so in the future. Back at the IIR's centenary in 2008, I proclaimed: ‘’Refrigeration is life‘’. I'm more convinced than ever. But we still have to convince many countries, many players and launch new projects all over the world. Nowhere is the notion of ‘sustainable development’ more applicable than in the field of refrigeration.

I am counting on Yosr, on the new team that is being put in place at the IIR's head office and on all of you to continue and amplify the IIR's action for the good of humanity, and to make it better known and appreciated around you. A new strategy has just been drawn up and validated by our statutory bodies, based in particular on actions to be carried out, country by country, which will lead to new services and a new organisation.

Thank you for all the work you have already done with us. I have sincerely appreciated the friendship that has resulted, and will treasure the memories.

But there’s more to come, keep up the good work!"
