A refrigeration plant in LEGO kit!

A new LEGO refrigeration plant kit to engage young people in refrigeration careers. It combines fun building with educational insights on fridge systems.

In the UK, a new LEGO refrigeration plant kit, created by Surrey-based food temperature control consultant engineers FJB, aims to inspire young people to explore careers in refrigeration. Available to Institute of Refrigeration (IoR) members who volunteer as STEM Ambassadors*, the kit includes building blocks and instructions for creating a fridge system.

It connects to IoR’s FantasticFridges.com website, which showcases refrigeration technology and its applications. Edwin Bowater, FJB, emphasized the importance of making refrigeration accessible and engaging for youth, while IoR president-elect Lisa-Jayne Cook praised the initiative and encouraged other companies to contribute to educational outreach.

* STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from a wide range of science, technology, engineering and mathematics related jobs across the UK.
