Chinese natural gas demand is set to grow by more than 2.5 times , reaching about 307 billion m3 by 2020, according to the International Energy Agency.
China has the potential to double the number of cars, trucks and buses fuelled by natural gas, including compressed fuel, to 3.8 million by 2020. This makes China the country with the fastest-growing market for gas-powered vehicles.
Demand in the power sector will increase to 117 billion m3, representing 30% of total demand in 2025.
