Out of the Ordinary: Pandas

Funi and Wang Wang, a couple of giant pandas, are star attractions at Adelaide Zoo in Australia. To keep them cool during South Australia's hot summers, chilled glass-reinforced rocks, air conditioning and waterfalls have been installed. The enclosure is maintained at a temperature of 17.5°C all year round thanks to energy recovery units, enthalpy heat exchangers, four individual circuit-chilled water coils and sophisticated temperature and humidity control.
