The IIR around the world: October 2023

Refcold in Chennai, India 

 

ISHRAE (Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) organised Refcold, the major event on the cold chain for food and healthcare products in South Asia, on October 12-14, 2023 in Chennai (India). Since its creation in 2018, the IIR has been a partner of ISHRAE in the organisation of this annual conference-exhibition.  

This time, the IIR notably participated in the organisation of two events: a presentation of the INDEE+ project on the use of CO₂ as a refrigerant in India, thanks to the Norwegian government and a seminar on heat pumps in food processing industries.  

 

IIR at ESEF 2023 in Praia 

 

On 12-13 June 2023, the IIR participated with the SophiA parnters SPF (Institute for Solar Technology) and 2iE (Institut International d'Ingénierie de l'Eau et de l'Environnement) to the 8^th edition of the ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) Sustainable Energy Forum ESEF 2023 in Praia (Cabo Verde). This year’s theme was "Strengthening sustainable energy in the ECOWAS region".  

The IIR was invited to make a presentation on the Sustainable Cooling Systems Challenges in sub-Saharan Africa, and many engaging discussions on the issue of cooling and energy efficiency were raised by various ECOWAS High Commissioners.  

This event was an excellent opportunity for SophiA partners from Africa and Europe to meet and discuss the project's progress. SPF and 2iE had insightful discussions about the necessary preparations for the first demonstration site in Burkina Faso, at Operieren in Afrika, as well as about capacity building on SophiA technologies for heating, cooling, and clean water. During the event, the first SophiA video was launched by the IIR (leader of SophiA’s communication and dissemination activities).

SIFA in Paris, France 

 

We would like to express our gratitude for your support and participation at the SIFA 2023 exhibition in Paris, Porte de Versailles from 10 to 12 October 2023, where the IIR shared its stand with the AFF. This record edition brought together an impressive number of exhibitors and visitors, with a total of 4,150 participants.  

Your presence and commitment helped to make these 3 intense days of exchanges, business and discoveries of new products and services an exceptional event for our refrigeration community.  

We were delighted to meet you and share some enriching moments on the latest advances in our industry (cooling, air conditioning, thermodynamics, and heat pumps). Your dynamism really brought our stand to life, and we are grateful for your continued enthusiasm.  

We already look forward to seeing you next year in Lyon from 19 to 21 November 2024 for an even more informative edition. Stay tuned for more exciting information on the latest developments in the refrigeration sector on our official website.
