We are seeking a Graphic Design Consultant to support the visual development of IIR’s technical publications and other scientific reports. This role requires a designer with a strong grasp of scientific communication, capable of translating complex data and engineering concepts into clear, engaging visuals for diverse audiences.
Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Design and format multi-author technical publications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and visual appeal.
- Create complex infographics and data visualisations that accurately represent scientific findings.
- Collaborate with researchers, editors, and the communications team to align visual content with scientific messaging.
- Develop visual assets for presentations, policy briefs, and digital dissemination.
- Ensure adherence to IIR branding and accessibility standards.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Information Design, or a related field.
- Additional coursework or certification in scientific communication, data visualisation, or technical publishing is a strong asset.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in graphic design for scientific or technical content.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and data visualisation tools.
- Strong understanding of layout design, typography, and visual hierarchy in technical documents.
- Ability to interpret and visualise complex datasets and engineering concepts.
- Experience working with academic or research institutions is a plus.
