We are seeking a Graphic Design Consultant to support the visual development of IIR’s technical publications and other scientific reports. This role requires a designer with a strong grasp of scientific communication, capable of translating complex data and engineering concepts into clear, engaging visuals for diverse audiences. 

 

Job description

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and format multi-author technical publications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and visual appeal. 
  • Create complex infographics and data visualisations that accurately represent scientific findings. 
  • Collaborate with researchers, editors, and the communications team to align visual content with scientific messaging. 
  • Develop visual assets for presentations, policy briefs, and digital dissemination. 
  • Ensure adherence to IIR branding and accessibility standards. 

 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Information Design, or a related field. 
  • Additional coursework or certification in scientific communication, data visualisation, or technical publishing is a strong asset. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Proven experience in graphic design for scientific or technical content. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and data visualisation tools. 
  • Strong understanding of layout design, typography, and visual hierarchy in technical documents. 
  • Ability to interpret and visualise complex datasets and engineering concepts. 
  • Experience working with academic or research institutions is a plus.
