ShareWorld Ozone Day 2025 - 40 Years of Global Commitment
Join the International Institute for Refrigeration (IIR) in supporting the Ozone Secretariat on World Ozone Day 2025 marking the 40th anniversary of the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer. This landmark agreement paved the way for the Montreal Protocol, a global commitment to protect the ozone layer and reduce harmful emissions. Thanks to decades of international cooperation, ozone recovery is now on track, a testament to science-driven policy and collective action.
From Science to Global Action
This year’s celebrations are marked by the theme “From Science to Global Action”, giving us the opportunity to celebrate the progress made by ozone treaties, and inspire future projects.
At the IIR, we are committed to:
- Strengthening capacity-building initiatives
- Supporting the global transition away from HFCs, in line with Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol - Statement from IIR Director General at COP13/MOP36
