Résumé

In this study, winter barley plants subjected to 5°C conditions showed decreased water potential. Additional cold acclimation at -10°C led to a further decline in leaf water potential. The results suggest less damage to meristematic tissue occur following cold acclimation, thanks to changes in the state of water and reduced osmotic response at a cellular level.
