Résumé

The effect of chlorpropham at 40 ml/tonne fog on the sprouting extent, weight loss and sweetness of potato cultivars was investigated at 0, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 months of storage at 10 °C and 90-95% relative humidity, and at room temperature. Potato tubers sprayed with chlorpropham and stored at 10 °C at 90-95% relative humidity did not sprout up to 6 months of storage. The chemical was effective in minimizing weight loss, and controlling sprouting and reducing sugar accumulation in 2 varieties. These cultivars produced good quality chips and had good organoleptic properties.
