Résumé

Concern over infections due to Enterobacter sakazakii via infant formulae is rising. In this study, 4 milk-based powdered infant formulas were investigated. The reconstituted formulas were stored at 4, 12, 21 and 30°C and microbial populations were monitored up to 72 hours. The results demonstrate that reconstituted infant formulas should not be held at ambient temperatures in neonatal intensive care facilities for more than 4 hours and that E. sakazakii will not grow at a temperature of 4°C or less.
