Résumé

The effect of stalk length (0, 15 or 30 cm) and enclosure in polyethylene bags on the storage of artichokes at 2 and 10 °C was studied. Storage life was extended to 14 (10 °C) or 28 days (2 °C) by enclosure in polyethylene bags. The presence of the flower stalk caused a reduction in weight loss but increased transport and handling costs without significantly improving quality.
