Régulation grâce à une étude prévisionnelle informatisée d'une installation frigorifique.

Model-based predictive control of a refrigeration plant.

Résumé

In a typical Dutch slaughterhouse, beef chilling is performed in a batch process. The installed (evaporator side) cooling capacity is too low to cover the peak cooling demand, which arises at the end of the loading period. It is possible to temporarily increase the evaporator side cooling capacity by lowering the evaporation temperature, which however has an adverse effect on weight loss and energy consumption. A solution has been provided by lowering the evaporation temperature temporarily during the period of maximum cooling demand. For this purpose, the BERTIX program is used to predict the cooling capacity needed. This program is developed in the paper. The system has been working satisfactory, reducing weight loss and energy consumption for over one year, and shows a pay back time of about one year.
