Summary

THE PAPER PROPOSES A NEW TEST METHOD TO MEASURE WATER VAPOUR PERMEANCE OF FULL-SIZE SPECIMEN THROUGH WHICH MOISTURE MAY TRANSFER TWO-DIMENSIONALLY. THE MEASUREMENT APPARATUS DEVISED FOR THIS PURPOSE IS BASED ON THE GUARDED HOT BOX METHOD FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT AND CONSISTS OF 3 THERMO-HYGROSTATIC CHAMBERS (G. H AND C). IT IS CAPABLE OF DEALING WITH SPECIMENS WHICH ARE MAXIMALLY 1.8 X 1.8 M2. USING THIS APPARATUS, THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT AND THE MOISTURE TRANSFER COEFFICIENT CAN BE SIMULTANEOUSLY OBTAINED.
