Summary
A MODEL IS DEFINED FOR A (COMBINED) DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEM IN WHICH, IN ADDITION TO A BOILER PLANT WORKING ON CRUDE OIL, COAL OR ELECTRICITY, THE USE OF A HEAT PUMP IS INCLUDED. A BLOCK DIAGRAM IS ENCLOSED WITH A MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR OPTIMIZING THE ANALYSIS OF THE TECHNO-ECONOMIC JUSTIFICATION FOR INCLUDING A HEAT PUMP IN THE DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEM. THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE THE DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEM OF SKOPJE WHICH HAS A 45 MEGAWATT HEAT PUMP WHICH USES THE WASTE HEAT FROM THE COOLING CIRCULATING SYSTEMS IN SKOPJE STEEL WORKS.
