Summary

A MATHEMATICAL MODEL WAS DEFINED FOR THE PREDICTION OF THE ENERGETIC AND OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS OF A SINGLE-STAGE CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR FOR HEAT PUMPS. ANALYTICAL EXPRESSIONS ARE SUGGESTED FOR THE CALCULATION OF LOSSES IN THE FLOW VOLUME AS A FUNCTION OF THE GEOMETRICAL AND STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FLOW VOLUME AND PARAMETERS DEFINING THE OPERATING CONDITIONS OF THE COMPRESSOR. THE INTERACTIONS OF THE COMPRESSOR WITH THE EVAPORATOR AND THE CONDENSER WERE ALSO ANALYZED.
