Summary
The evaluation of heat and mass transfer parameters required to implement the idealized model of hot-gas defrosting is discussed. Simulated refrigerant leaving temperatures and enthalpies are similar to experimentally obtained values, thus validating the idealized model and justifying the assumption made in order to idealize an actual defrosting process.
