A new approach to turbine inlet air cooling.
Author(s) : GUIMARÃES E. T.
Summary
Gas turbine combustion air cooling systems are an important component of electric power generation because they increase power and efficiency of the gas turbines. Usually in peak load hours, a substantial amount of the generated power is used for cooling the combustion air. The proposed system allows the cooling to be performed with almost no parasitic loads, using mainly the heat recovered from the boiler stack.
