A NEW EQUATION OF STATE FOR GAS MACHINERY IN GAS-SEPARATION PROCESSES. A CUBIC REDUCED VIRIAL EQUATION OF STATE WITH NEW SIMPLE MIXING RULES.

Author(s) : LI S. T., HAN K. R., PAN Y.

Summary

BASED ON THE PRINCIPLE OF STATISTICAL AND THERMODYNAMIC MECHANICS, THE AUTHORS PROPOSE A CUBIC REDUCED VIRIAL EQUATION AND A NEW GENERALIZED CORRELATION OF ITS SECOND AND THIRD REDUCED VIRIAL COEFFICIENTS FOR REAL GASES AND THEIR MIXTURE IN COMPRESSORS FOR GAS SEPARATION. IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE PSEUDOCRITICAL PROPERTIES OF MIXED REAL GASES THEY ALSO PROPOSE A NEW RULE FOR MIXTURES, ESTABLISHED FROM THE SIMPLE COMBINATION RULE BY THE GEOMETRICAL MEAN OF THE PARAMETERS OF INTRAMOLECULAR FORCE. THE PROPOSED EQUATION IS CHECKED BY 1,000 PVT DATA RECORDED FROM DIFFERENT SINGLE GASES AND 3,000 PVT DATA RECORDED FOR GAS MIXTURES. CALCULATED DATA ARE CONFIRMED BY DATA FROM LITERATURE.
