A NEW INSULATION PROCEDURE AND ITS APPLICATION REGARDING CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN OF INSULATED VEHICLES, EXEMPLIFIED BY A REEFER RAILCAR.

Author(s) : GRAAFF W.

Summary

THE INSULATING MATERIAL HIGH-DENSITY POLYURETHANE CAN BE CHARACTERIZED BY AN EXCEPTIONAL LOW MOISTURE ABSORPTION, WITH HIGH STRENGTH AND SHEARING CAPABILITY. GIVEN THE EXCELLENT DURABILITY, WITH A REDUCED ABSORPTION OF MOISTURE, THE MATERIAL CAN ALSO BE CALLED < NOT EASILY INFLAMMABLE > COMBINED WITH THE TOP LAYER USED. IN ADDITION, THE EXPENSE FOR MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND CLEANING CAN BE REDUCED SIGNIFICANTLY, THUS LEADING TO LOWER OPERATING COSTS. IN TODAY'S MORE ADVANCED PRODUCTIONS, PREMANUFACTURED SANDWICH PANELS WHICH ARE ASSEMBLED INTO A PREMANUFACTURED SKELETON FRAME, ARE USED.
