SOUND ABSORBERS WHICH ARE INSTALLED IN FLOW DUCTS OF AIR HANDLING DEVICES TO REDUCE NOISE, CAUSE AN ADDITIONAL PRESSURE LOSS WHICH HAS TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT IN THE DESIGN OF THE FANS. THIS PRESSURE LOSS CAN BE DETERMINED BY A SIMPLE METHOD IN A SILENCER TEST FACILITY, SO THAT THE FANS CAN BE SELECTED PROPERLY AND AN ENERGY-SAVING OPERATION OF AIR HANDLING DEVICES IS THUS POSSIBLE.
