A SIMPLIFIED METHOD OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION ESTIMATION FOR BUILDINGS IN HOT AND HUMID CLIMATES.

Author(s) : LIN H. T., YANG K. H.

Summary

PRESENTS A SIMPLIFIED METHOD OF PREDICTINGTHE ANNUAL AIR CONDITIONING LOAD OF BUILDINGS, USING ONLY LINEAR EQUATIONS AND MONTHLY WEATHER DATA. ON THE BASIS OF THE METHOD AND OBSERVED MONTHLY WEATHER DATA, CALCULATES THE ANNUAL LOAD OF SOME MODEL BUILDINGS FOR ABOUT 560 STATIONS DISTRIBUTED IN HOT AND HUMID AREAS AND ESTABLISHES SOME DISTRIBUTION MAPS OF THE ANNUAL LOAD IN THOSE CLIMATES. STATES THAT BY COMPARING THE DESIGN PARAMETERS OF THE MODEL BUILDINGS AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF THEIR ANNUAL LOADS IN THESE MAPS, IT IS POSSIBLE TO FIND AN OPTIMUM DESIGN THAT MATCHES THE BUILDING ENVELOPE WITH THE HOT AND HUMID CLIMATE.
