Summary

NOTES THAT CURRENT AIR INFILTRATION MODELS FOR AIR FLOWS IN MULTIZONE BUILDINGS RELY ON THE USE OF MAINFRAME COMPUTERS. DESCRIBES THE SECOND STEP IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MULTIZONE INFILTRATION MODEL FOR CALCULATING THE AIR FLOW DISTRIBUTION OF A COMPLEX BUILDING. THE MODEL IS BASED ON AN ALGORITHM THAT CAN BE DETERMINED WITH A POCKET CALCULATOR. DESCRIBES THE SIMPLIFICATIONS TO THE CALCULATION PROCESS AND ILLUSTRATES THE MODEL BY A SAMPLE CALCULATION OF AN EIGHT-STORYBID. FINDS GOOD AGREEMENT FOR MOST OF THE AIRFLOW PATH IN THE BUILDING BETWEEN DETAILED AND SIMPLIFIED MODELS. (INT. BUILD. SERV. ABSTR., GB., 24, N 5, 1989/09-10, 89-01555.
