A study of overall tribological problems in developing R407C rotary compressor with polyolester oils.

Summary

Real compressor life tests were conducted with several polyolester (POE) oils. Accelerated bench wear tests were also performed, and their results were compared with the life tests. To prevent severe wear in the vane and the roller components, several hard coatings were applied in the vane surface and their tribological performances were evaluated. Results are given.
