Summary

THE PAPER OFFERS AN IMPROVED SYSTEM OF REHEAT CONTROL FOR A SI MPLE AIR-CONDITIONING PLANT. THE NORMAL SYSTEM USES A HUMIDISTAT SENSOR TO LOWER COOLING COIL TEMPERATURE ON A RISE IN SPACE HUMIDITY. SPACE TEMPERATURE THEN DROPS TO THE LOW END OF THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER PROPORTIONAL BAND BEFORE REHEAT OPERATES. THE SUGGESTED SYSTEM USES A HUMIDISTAT SENSOR TO BRING ON THE REHEAT COIL IN A SIMILAR SITUATION, EFFECTIVELY RAISING TEMPERATURE AND CAUSING AN IMMEDIATE ACTION FROM THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER TO INCREASE COOLING. THE REQUIRED EFFECT ON HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURE WILL LAY IN A NARROWER BAND. D.W.H.
