Author(s) : BLUYSSEN P.

Summary

2-PROPANONE WAS USED AS A REFERENCE GAS RATHER THAN HUMAN BIOEFFLUENTS AS USED IN THE DEFINITION OF THE OLF AND THE DECIPOL UNITS. THE RELATION BETWEEN 2-PROPANONE CONCENTRATION IN AIR AND PERCEIVED AIR QUALITY EXPRESSED IN DECIPOL WAS DETERMINED BY 265 NAIVE SUBJECTS. AFTER A SELECTION PROCEDURE A SELECTED PANEL OF 14 PERSONS WAS ABLE TO JUDGE 2-PROPANONE CONCENTRATIONS WITH AN ERROR OF 1.5 DECIPOL AND A STANDARD ERROR OF THE MEAN VOTE OF THE PANEL OF 0.6 DECIPOL (N = 14).
