Summary

States that absorption refrigeration equipment is an interesting option for air conditioning installations in buildings if low-temperature heat (in the 90 to 120 deg C range) is available at low cost. Describes an investigation in which there was established the extent to which the combination of a combined heat and power scheme and absorption type refrigeration can be economically feasible. Finds that as far as larger buildings are concerned, this combination may well compensate for the decline in heat delivery from a combined heat and power scheme which normally occurs during the summer months. Establishes under which conditions this combination may lead to an economically justified refrigeration operation.
